EEMBC, the Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium, was formed in 1997 to develop meaningful performance benchmarks for the hardware and software used in embedded systems. Through the combined efforts of its members, EEMBC® benchmarks have become an industry standard for evaluating the capabilities of embedded processors and systems, compilers, and Java implementations according to objective, clearly defined, application-based criteria.

嵌入式產業聯盟主要目標為經由國內嵌入式系統相關業者相互合作，催生能連結嵌入式系統上、下游的整合發展環境平台（Integrated Develop Environment；IDE），促進嵌入式系統產業的蓬勃發展，期能推動台灣成為嵌入式系統創新應用的領先國家。

本聯盟組織數個SIG（Special Interest Group），發展應用平台，選擇對產業價值鏈有益的未來性應用，鼓勵核心技術的研發，並協助IDE供應商的成長。

聯盟組織分為會員大會、執行委員會、工作小組SIG、技術/平台專案、顧問群、秘書處，其中以會員大會為最高權力機構，執行委員會為執行機構，於會員大會休會期間代行其職。聯盟目前設有「示範性平台（General Purpose Platform）SIG」、「嵌入式軟體（Embedded Software）SIG」、「系統整合（System Integrated）SIG」、「測試/驗證（Test / Verification）SIG」等四個工作小組，並陸續籌組開設技術開發專案。
